Since arriving in Los Angeles, Jamey Tate has become one of the most sought after musicians on the national touring and studio scenes. He has performed and/or recorded with a diverse list of some of the biggest artists in the music industry, including David Benoit, Al Jarreau, Jane Monheit, Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, Christopher Cross, Quincy Jones, Dave Koz, Melissa Manchester, The New York Voices, Lucy Woodward, Paul Anka, and Mindi Abair; as well as stars across a wide range of genres like American Idol's Justin Guarini, the Ahn Trio, the Stan Kenton Orchestra, Russell Ferrante, Brian Simpson, Peter White, and Jeff Lorber. Jamey maintains a busy studio career in Los Angeles, having worked with composers and producers including Pinar Toprak, Matthew Kajcienski, Christopher Lennertz, Patrick Williams, Daniel Lanois, Chris Walden, David Sheppard, Mathew Hager, and David Schwartz, to name a few. He has performed on numerous major motion picture soundtracks, television shows, and commercials including Jersey Boys, Empire, Longmire, and NBC鈥檚 production of Jesus Christ Superstar Live with John Legend, Sara Bareilles, and Alice Cooper.
Jamey has also written and produced music for television commercials and shows including FOX鈥檚 First Responders Live, ABC鈥檚 Oscars Red Carpet, ESPN College Football, McDonald鈥檚, AT&T, and many more. He serves as the Musical Director of the Music Center of LA鈥檚 Spotlight Awards Show, and keeps busy as a producer, working on recent albums for artists like Paul Tuvman, Justin Ray, Solomon Jaye, Courtney Fortune, and The Edge Effect.
Jamey keeps a busy schedule as an artist/clinician for Sakae Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Vic Firth Drumsticks, and Evans Drumheads. He is a member of the music faculty at 海角社区 in Los Angeles and also conducts master classes and private instruction across the country and abroad.
